About this ebook

From the #1 New York Times-bestselling author of The 48 Laws of Power comes the definitive new book on decoding the behavior of the people around you

Robert Greene is a master guide for millions of readers, distilling ancient wisdom and philosophy into essential texts for seekers of power, understanding and mastery. Now he turns to the most important subject of all - understanding people's drives and motivations, even when they are unconscious of them themselves.

We are social animals. Our very lives depend on our relationships with people. Knowing why people do what they do is the most important tool we can possess, without which our other talents can only take us so far. Drawing from the ideas and examples of Pericles, Queen Elizabeth I, Martin Luther King Jr, and many others, Greene teaches us how to detach ourselves from our own emotions and master self-control, how to develop the empathy that leads to insight, how to look behind people's masks, and how to resist conformity to develop your singular sense of purpose. Whether at work, in relationships, or in shaping the world around you, The Laws of Human Nature offers brilliant tactics for success, self-improvement, and self-defense.

Good book. Too many short stories that dilute the main point in every chapter and not enough data or terms from real psychological/philosophical textbooks. Therefore, falling somewhere in the middle of one person's view of the world.

What an unbelievable book! The depth and the content of this book can be made into 20 different decent books. I can't imagine the number of hours of research Robert Greene had to do. I bought the Audio book and liked it so much that I flew to Los Angeles to meet with Robert Greene when Ryan Holiday hosted an event. What makes this book stands out from others is the amount of useful information and real life stories of people. One can relate to all these and I am very grateful to have stumbled on this book. Pure diamond. I have listened to the audio book over and over and it is like a polishing stone that is making me a better human being every day.

I finished reading this book, and I wanted to share what this book has meant to me. It took me about six months to finish. For some people, this book is short. For others, it's long. For me, it was a journey. it helped me understand myself, my life, my decisions, and the mistakes I've made. It also changed the way I look at other people. It made me think about how they act, why they act the way they do, and, most importantly, it taught me to understand them a little better instead of judging them too quickly. The more I read the more peace I found within myself. I learned to forgive myself for my mistakes and to see them as part of becoming the person I want to be. It may sound simple, or even a little foolish, but that's me. I wonder... what has your journey been like? maybe this book has impacted you as much as it impacted me. Maybe it has helped you. If it did, then I hope it brought you the same peace it brought me. August 6, 2026, Draven Voss
